Privacy policy

At Baderum.com, we want you to feel just as secure when you shop in our webshop as when you stand in your finished bathroom. Part of that is knowing exactly what happens to your information: what we collect, why, and what you can choose for yourself.

This policy describes all of it. It applies when you visit and use shop.baderum.com, when you buy, return or exchange something with us, and whenever else you are in contact with us. We refer to all of this collectively as "the webshop".

The webshop runs on Shopify, which provides the technical platform behind the store. Should there be any conflict between our general terms of trade and this policy, this policy prevails when it comes to your personal data.

When you use the webshop, we assume that you have read and understood how we collect, use and share your information as described here.

The information we collect

By "personal data" we mean information that can identify you or be reasonably linked to you. It does not cover data that is anonymous or anonymised so that it can no longer be traced back to you.

Depending on how you use the webshop, where you live, and what the law permits, we may collect and process:

Contact information: name, address, billing and delivery address, phone number and email address. Payment information: card and bank account details, transaction data, payment method and confirmation. Account information: username, password, security questions, preferences and settings, if you create an account. Transaction information: what you view, add to your cart, save to your wishlist, buy, return, exchange or cancel, as well as your purchase history. Your communication with us: what you write to us, for example when you contact our customer service. Device information: information about your device, browser, network connection, IP address and other unique identifiers. Usage information: how and when you use and move around the webshop.

We may also infer information from the above.

Where the information comes from

We collect personal data from:

You, when you create an account, use the webshop, write to us or otherwise give us your information. The webshop automatically, from your device, when you shop or visit us, including through cookies and similar technologies. Our suppliers, when they handle technology or process information on our behalf. Our partners and other third parties.

How we use your information

Depending on how you use the webshop, we may use your personal data to:

Operate and improve the webshop. To fulfil our agreement with you: process payments, prepare and send your orders, remember your preferences, send you messages about your account and your orders, handle returns and exchanges, give you the option to write reviews, and make your experience more personal, for example by recommending products that match what you have already bought.

Marketing. To send you news and offers by email, text message or post, and to show you ads for our products in the webshop and elsewhere, including based on what you have previously viewed or added to your cart.

Security and fraud prevention. To verify your account, ensure secure payment, and detect or stop fraud and other unlawful or harmful activity. If you create an account, you play a part in protecting your information, and we recommend that you never share your username, password or other access details with others.

Communicating with you. To give you good customer service, respond to you and maintain a good relationship with you as a customer.

Legal reasons. To comply with the law, respond to lawful requests from authorities, handle legal proceedings and enforce our terms and policies.

How we share your information

In some cases we share your personal data with third parties. This always happens for lawful purposes and within the framework of this policy:

With Shopify, suppliers and partners who carry out tasks for us, for example IT operations, payment processing, data analysis, customer service, cloud storage, and packing and shipping.

With business and marketing partners who help us with advertising. Among other things, we use Shopify to show personalised ads with third parties based on your activity across stores and websites. These partners process your information under their own privacy policies. Depending on where you live, you can ask us not to share information about you for this kind of targeted marketing.

When you ask us to or give consent, for example to have your items shipped, or when you use social media widgets or login integrations.

With companies in the same group as us.

In connection with a business transaction such as a merger or bankruptcy, to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the webshop, our rights and our customers' rights.

Relationship with Shopify

The webshop is hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes information about your use of the store in order to provide and improve it. The information you send to the webshop is transferred to and shared with Shopify and third parties that may be located in countries other than your own.

To protect and develop the business, we also use certain enhanced Shopify features, where data from your interactions with our store is combined with data from other stores and from Shopify itself. In those cases, Shopify is responsible for processing your personal data, including when it comes to responding to your requests about your rights. You can read more in Shopify's consumer privacy policy at https://privacy.shopify.com/en.

Links to other websites

The webshop may contain links to other websites and platforms that we do not operate. If you follow a link to a site we do not own or control, you should read their own privacy and security terms. We cannot guarantee the protection of your information on such sites, and we are not responsible for it. Information you share in public places, for example on social media, can be seen and used by others. The fact that we link to a site does not mean that we endorse its content.

Children

The webshop is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data about children under the age of majority in your country. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has given us information, you are welcome to contact us (see below) and we will delete it. As of the date of this policy, we have no knowledge that we share or sell personal data about persons under the age of 16.

Security and storage

No security solution is perfect, and we cannot promise "complete security". Information you send to us is not necessarily protected in transit either. We therefore recommend that you do not send us sensitive or confidential information through insecure channels.

How long we keep your information depends, among other things, on whether we need it to maintain your account, provide a service, comply with the law or resolve a dispute.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of these rights. They are not absolute. They apply only in certain circumstances, and in some cases we may decline a request where the law permits.

Access: you can ask to access the personal data we hold about you. Erasure: you can ask us to delete the information we hold about you. Rectification: you can ask us to correct inaccurate information about you. Data portability: you can ask for a copy of your information and for us to pass it on to a third party, in certain circumstances and with certain exceptions. Marketing preferences: we may send you offers by email, and you can always unsubscribe via the unsubscribe link in the email. Even if you unsubscribe, we may still send you practical messages about your account and your orders.

If you live in the United Kingdom or the EEA, you also have the right to the following, subject to the exceptions and limitations that follow from local law:

Object to or restrict our processing of your information for certain purposes.

Withdraw your consent where we process your information on the basis of consent. This does not affect the lawfulness of the processing that took place before you withdrew consent.

You can exercise your rights where indicated in the webshop, or by contacting us at the bottom of the page. We will not treat you differently because you exercise your rights. We may need to verify your identity first, and you can appoint an authorised person to submit requests on your behalf. In that case, we ask for documentation of the authorisation. We respond to your request within the deadlines required by law. To learn more about how Shopify processes your information, and what rights you have in that regard, you can read more at https://privacy.shopify.com/en.

Complaints

If you wish to complain about how we process your personal data, please contact us at the bottom of the page. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to take your complaint further. If you live in the EEA, this is to your local data protection authority; in Denmark, this is the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).

Transfer to other countries

We may transfer, store and process your personal data outside the country you live in. If we transfer information out of the EEA or the United Kingdom, we use recognised transfer mechanisms, for example the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, unless the transfer is to a country with a recognised adequate level of protection.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy from time to time, for example if we change our practices or if the law requires it. The updated version is always posted here on the page with a new "Last updated" date, and we give notice where the law requires it.
