Terrazzo is a porcelain stoneware inspired by the classic Italian terrazzo, a composite stone originating in 15th-century Venice. The original terrazzo was created by Venetian stoneworkers who reused marble offcuts in a cement-based base and ground the surface to a smooth finish. The result was a tile with a colourful pattern and rustic character that has since adorned everything from palaces to modern homes.
The look is rendered in porcelain stoneware with a matt surface and warm fragments in black, beige, grey and terracotta on a light background. The classic terrazzo character, the durability of porcelain. Fully rectified, so the grout line can be kept to a minimum.
Suited to both floor and wall indoors. The lively pattern gives character and tells a story in the bathroom, working both as a bold statement and as a calm backdrop against smooth surfaces and clean lines.
